Is the Russian Terrier a Healthy Breed?
Due to exceptionally careful and meticulous breeding practices of this breed, the only two health problems that seem to plague the Black Russian Terrier are elbow and hip problems in the form of Dysplasia as well as progressive retinal atrophy (PRA). If the ears are not properly cared for, and cleaned, this breed tends to develop Otitis (inflammation of the middle ear) as well. So take good care of your BRT. Although every dog is different, just bear in mind these few diseases that have been catalogued about the breed.
